[quote="mr.72"] So it's highly clothing-dependent, and IMHO, also highly body-type dependent.

Isn't this true of just about every manner of conceal carry you can think of. What works for one person may not work for another. I wore the SmartCarry rig all day yesterday and had no problems. I found it to be very comfortable, but hey, that's me. I still own several IWB"s and have an OWB on order. I will use them on occasion depending on the circumstances. I like having options on my manner of carry. I bet none of us would want to get by with just one holster. I guess the best approach is to go with what works for you.

Of course.

However, I get by with just one holster just fine. I have a second holster (for a second gun) that I never, ever use. I suppose there are some instances where I can imagine carrying with the Crossbreed and the S&W.

Brings me back to the saying "never point a gun at something you are not willing to destroy" I think I will pass on smart carry..... :nono:

It's a common misconception that the SmartCarry "points at your privates".

It doesn't.

It can be worn on the opposite side of your privates and is most comfortable when not pointing the handgun straight down.

When positioned properly it points down and across the top of your thigh creating no more "risk" than any IWB holster.

Again, it's not for everyone's carry situation and everyone's body type, but for some of us it's the optimum system available.

I agree with doc540. I won't say the SmartCarry is for everyone; but it works for me on certain occasions. I'm big and when I sit down in a chair I usually take up the whole chair. If the chair has arms, well, it can be a snug fit. Carrying my weapon in an IWB or an OWB can create problems. The weapon will catch on the arm of the chair or be squeezed between me and the arm and that's very uncomfortable. The SmartCarry solves that problem. Maybe if I was skinny like you guys there wouldn't be a problem; but I weigh in at 365lbs so I have special needs at times.

Bottom line is that he is correct. Each of us will undoubtedly consider MANY different methods of carry, and experiment just as widely. I know a guy that literally has a laundry basket full of holsters he has tried. Myself, I'm kind of a KISS guy. Keep it simple, silly. Not a lot of moving parts and easy to take on and off. Doesn't have to be perfectly comfortable, or so comfortable that I forget its there. Like my weapon, the holster just has to do its job. Personally, I don't see myself trying the Smartcarry anytime soon. Or a belly band. Or a cell-pal thing-a-ma-bob.

By the time I'm really done, I may have a closet full of holsters, myself. :coolgleamA:

You'd never find them in there behind all the dresses, blouses, skirts, pantsuits, shoes, and the one suit I'm likely to be buried in.....
