Cabela's Fort Worth firearms sale Aug 20-26 only.

Cabela's, the Fort Worth store only, according to a sales circular I received,
is having a 7 day sale on pistols, rifles, Bushmasters, Mini-14's, and shotguns.

Perhaps other Cabela's in Texas are having similar sales. I don't work for Cabela's
and I know that y'all have your own places you like to buy your guns. But I thought I would
list the pistols for sale. Some of the prices seem good, others.... not so much. Here goes:

REVOLVERS
Cimarron Plinkerton cowboy style revolver, .22LR, $174.99.
Ruger GP-100, .357, 4" or 6" barrel, $549.99.
Ruger LCR, Hogue grips, $449.99.
S & W 637, 638, 642, .38 Special, $459.99.
S & W Outfitter, .44 Mag, 4" barrel, $799.99.
Taurus .22 Mag, 8 rounds, $419.99.
Taurus Centerfire revolvers, any, $25 off any in stock.

SEMI-AUTO's.
Beretta Neos, .22 LR, $269.99.
Beretta 92FS, 9mm, $549.99.
Bersa Duo-Tone Compact, 9mm, no further model specified, $419.99
CZ P-07, 9mm, $449.99
N. Texas LTC's hold 3 breakfasts each month. All are 800 AM. OC is fine.
2nd Saturdays: Rudy's BBQ, N. Dallas Pkwy, N.bound, N. of Main St., Frisco.
3rd Saturdays: Golden Corral, 465 E. I-20, Collins St exit, Arlington.
4th Saturdays: Sunny St. Cafe, off I-20, Exit 415, Mikus Rd, Willow Park.

Similar add in the Austin paper for the Buda store. I did have to chuckle at a few of those "sale prices" though .... $519 for Glocks? Um, that's only $10 cheaper than the EVERYDAY price at Academy, and same price as many local gun shops. Dealers at most recent Austin Saxet gun show listed same for $479.

I wouldn't call that a sale!!! If you just look a bit you can beat those prices.

Funny thing is, someone bought a used Glock 22 at a local auction in Austin last week, and paid almost $550!

Sometimes, if you work the promotions right, you can do OK at Cabela's. When I bought a G19 there, It was on sale, I had a $20 coupon I'd been sent, a $50 gift card I'd won, and there was a "spend $500 and get a $150 gift card" promotion going on that I took advantage of . . . so even though Cabela's prices usually aren't the best (especially in their used gun department), things CAN work out pretty well if you're a canny shopper.

Those prices are not really anything special but if I were looking for any of those models i might be tempted to buy it there just for a good excuse to spend two or three hours wondering all over that place. It is like a dream world in there for me. That place has everything I could ever want...LOL.

There was no way that I could research whether all the above prices were good or not.

Since they had such a wide variety of handguns, I was just hoping that someone out there
in CHL land might find the one that would have his name on it.

Sometimes prices might not be the best, but finding one in the store beats a better price
at some store that doesn't have it.

Happy window shopping all.

Went Sat. and got the Glock 27 for the $519.00 sale price. Place was packed big time. When I got home was pleasantly surprised to see it came equipped with Glock night sights. I don't know how I missed that at the store but the place was shoulder to shoulder and I just wanted to get out of there. Had to wait in line for 30 minutes just to pay.

I'm assuming since you are from "Hill Country" that you went to the Buda store.

Did you know about the sale from other sources, or from this thread?

Congratulations on your new purchase, and the extra you didn't know you were getting.

SIA - You are right, it was the Buda store. They had like a 12 page advertisement in the Austin newspaper that I received on 8/21/09.

austinrealtor - Yep, I was pretty surprised when I saw those night sights. They were not advertised with the night sights. Their receipt which sets out the description of the firearm even indicated Glock night sights.

:iagree: ...WOW!!!! I paid 485 plus tax for my G 27 a year ago...WITHOUT night sights. Then I spent another 85 bucks buying a set of trijicon(sp?) sights for it. You just stole that gun...congrats on a good deal. :anamatedbanana

I was there about a week ago, and it was packed then, too.

Did you get the promotional Cabela's Club card in the mail a couple of weeks back? If you did, they would have activated it for $150 when you bought your G27, since it was over $499. Good deal, that way.

Hank - I may have got that promotional card in the mail and thought it was just junk mail or something. Actually this was my first trip ever to Cabela's and that was because of the sale. While there I did sign up for their club and got $15.00 knocked off the price so I actually paid $504.00 + the governors take. They also gave me a nice baseball type cap although I don't like to wear anything that advertises for anyone. But that is OK because my wife immediately snapped the the cap up. I will go back there again when it is not so busy to just browse the store.
