The one (gun) that got away

So the whole family got together for a trip this weekend and while sitting around dad was telling a story about his days with HPD. During a story he referenced his .45

After the story I asked him about it since I didn't remember him having one.

Turns out he used to have a colt 1911 that he sold to buy a different gun.

My jaw dropped, and all I could think about last night is how if he still had it he would have sold it to me for next to nothing (at least that's what has happened in the past)

There are several guns that I have traded through the years that would sure come in handy today. Several Colt AR's, old S&W's, Gold Cups, etc. But, the new gun that I think I "need" is always shinier.
