You did good. I can't name a better brand of pistol for the price when it comes to 1911's. Plus, if you ever do have an issue SA's customer service department is outstanding.

Now that I think about it, it's funny that most of the top notch customer service I have had has been firearms related, either directly or indirectly.

Springfield, Comp-Tac, The Beltman, Knesek Guns, and a few others. That says something doesn't it?

They haven't all been perfect but they fixed the issue and then some.

I would have to agree with you there, but they seem to be forged of unobtanium. If you have a source PM me fast!

:iagree: Haven't had one issue with any of my Wilsons yet. Good choice on the Springer too.

The Wilson and Tripp mags are great. I use both for carry duty.

However, I will argue that neither of them can take more abuse than the Chip McCormick powermags. Repeatedly dropped on concrete, stomped into red north TX dirt over and over and they keep going. I've had the Wilson mags fail under hard use, the Tripp's never see that kind of abuse because they cost too much.

YMMV
