Yeah, probably the worst thing to worry about is getting TOO much help.

First of all, Ifeel honored to be received into the CHL Forum. I want to thank Mr. Cotton and Kieth B for their help.(As I said before, I'm cluelles about PCs, so I just wanted to let Keith B know that when he welcomed me, I didn't know, and couldn't find the" introduce your self section" he was telling me about) I want to thank Liberty, kc5av,longtooht,.45mac.40, and everyone else who's welcome Iappreciate very much.Thank you......OK, now just to be on track, is it here where I introduce myself correctly? I'll check next time I log on to be sure. Bye for now.

My pleasure Roge. Great to see you here! :thumbs2:

Thank you Kieth. I have noticed the willingness of some members to help me.Besides the knowledge contained in CHL Forum the other thing I like very much is the maturity in how members interact with each other. I believe respect among each other is the best and most valuable asset to this site. I think that the main objective of this forum is to gain knowledge of issues relating to gun laws and that what ever the measure of knowledge each member possesses and is willing to share that knowledge with the less knowledgeable members whether they being seniors, juniors, or newly aqquired CHL holders, will make old and newcomers feel very comfortable to ask any question seeking answers and information, regardless of their IQ on any issue. What may seem a"dumb" question to many people will nevertheless offer the answer to others who were afraid or felt ashamed to ask it for fear of being ridiculed. I myself am one of the newcomers and a new CHL holder with so many questions and confused about gun laws issues and those 30.06 signs that are popping up on many places whether valid or not. This is one of my humble reasons why I'm speaking out to all members,to ask for patience for those of us who from time to time will ask a "dumb" question perhaps more than once.To KIETH, please forgive me for expressing my thoughts, in any time I intended to offend anyone. Nor was ever my intention to abuse my privilege to post here. I still haven't learned which or what or where topics should properly be posted, nor which section I should post a question. I'm still in a learning stage and my progress to learn is very slow and but eager. Sincerely.

Welcome, LIGHTHAMMER, from across the causeway. We have a bunch of forum members in Texas City, and a bunch more in Galveston County.

I hope your wait is short.

Just thought I would say Hello! Completed the CHL with ElGato yeserday and am sending off the paper work in the AM. I am originally from Washington State but have been living in the great state of Texas for the last 10 years. I am prior Navy. Been shooting since I was a kid. Haven't gotten into it much lately as I've been just too busy with work and I am a scuba instructor. I reload my own .357, .45, 9mm including casting my own bullets. I live very close to the Pearland shooting Club but haven't been over to join yet. I guess it is time. I am in the market for a new semi to carry on a daily basis. Something light, compact but still has a punch. Recommendations would be welcome. I am sure there are lots of threads that I can look up and get some help. And of co urse there are as many recommendations as there are weapons. Thats what makes these forums fun. I am looking forward to chatting with and meeting many of you.

Hi everyone. I'm an accountant for one of the Big Four. I grew up in Texas and have been shooting my whole life. I recently started thinking about getting a CHL because of the crime.

I want to take your intro as an opportunity to encourage you as well as other new shooters, new to CHL, new to daily carry, new learners about gear, ....
I am still a learner in these areas too. I am just not a new learner. :tiphat: Been learning for a LONG time about firearms & about CC since 95.

THERE ARE NO DUMB QUESTIONS ON THIS BOARD.

Virtually everyone here is willing to help others w/ what they have learned. Much of that may have been learned here.
I have been shooting for just over 50 yrs & I know with out any doubt, I have learned more on this board in the past 4yrs than I have learned at any other single spot, book, board, class, range, hunting camp...list can go on.

Here is a help for ALL you that are green in some area, & I take this advice that I off to you now.

As you lurk, read, learn & you dont think you have anything to contribute, POST a :woohoo Man I just learned something. Restate what you learned.

If you are not a :woohoo type personality then, OOOH, that is neat I didn't know SA made that tiny of a 9mm & I can see how it would conceal very well.
Or, HHHmmm, never thought of just slipping one that small in my pocket.....

That does at least 3 things.
1. Reinforces what you just learned & anchors it in your mind.
2. Encourages those who have offered something of value to others & did not even know it at the time.
3. Others recognize you as one who is willing to be included & not a bashful wall flower.

Glad to have you & thanks for the observations.
