This follow up is years old but it's the first time I've heard of it. Apparently he sued the DEA for allowing the video to be leaked.

I know he filed suit, but I don't know if it's still going or if it was dismissed as frivolous, or failure to state a claim, or . . .
In my insurance defense days, we had a phrase for cases where the plaintiff was injured/killed due to their own extreme stupidity. We called it the "too stupid to live defense."

I am surprised that with kids in the room, the adults didn't all leave. I wouldn't have stayed. Fortunately no one was killed. It's not the first accidental discharge in a training situation. I am glad this agent survived his experience.

Charles, I couldn't have said it better. I remember when I saw this years ago. Most in the business at that time called the incident idiotic. I was just being nice in my post.

I heard somewhere that he is no longer with the DEA (in any capacity).

The DEA agent, Lee Paige, filed as a pro se plaintiff. His complaint was very poorly written. Since then, he has retained an attorney, but I haven't heard anything about the progress of his lawsuit.

I'm sorry, but that is the funniest video I have seen in quite some time. I can't believe that idiot just kept on going after shooting himself...LOL.

I thought it was funny how after he just shot himself he asked to be handed another gun. The audiences reaction was priceless as well.

It just reinforces my theory that any yahoo can classify himself as an expert consultant and in most cases convince the public that he/she actually is.

I thought it was hilarious that, after shooting himself, he starts to present a rifle to the class, and they all start yelling at him to put it down!

Well, the law suit is back. His first suit was filed Pro Se. This time it looks like he got legal representation and successfully filed and won an appeal.

Earlier this week, Lee was able to successfully get the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit to overturn a December ruling terminating his original lawsuit.

Lee Paige. So that's the name of the idiot who shot himself in a school classroom. Good to know.

That's the first time I've seen that video and all I can say is
Was he trying to release the slide when it fired?

I think he was trying to re-holster. I also thought that I had heard he was originally suing over the release of the video because it made him look stupid and because of the exposure, he could no longer work undercover.SIGnificant wrote:That's the first time I've seen that video and all I can say is

I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.
