Mossberg 500 equipment question

#1

Post by kwf2006 »

Hi everyone. I have not had any luck finding a Mossberg shotgun forum.

I thought I might ask here. I have a Mossberg 500A that almost breaks my wrist when I fire the hot loads in it. I am looking for a folding stock that folds to the side that has a standard recoil pad on the shoulder part and hopefully something rubber or of that nature for the pistol grip.

If someone knows of one, or can refer me to a particular model I would appreciate it!

I have a 590. I went back to the standard stock. The pistol grip is just at the wrong angle for shooting from the lower area. I also am looking for a collapsible stock.

My next purchase is to be a Knoxx Spec Ops stock for my Mossberg 500. Theses are designed to reduce recoil. This is a collapsible stock with a pistol grip. Looks good on the video and I will soon have one to try myself.

I'm in exactly the same position. I just got a new stock for my 500, I think it's at ATI...at any rate, it has the speed feed shell holder built in. It's so heavy that I am thinking about switching to a folding stock. I've heard of the Special Ops recoil absorbing folding stock, but haven't tried one. The reviews on one of the web store sites were mixed, but mostly positive.

I purchased and installed the Spec Ops stock today. Ran most of a box thru it and it is wonderful. Barrel stays on target and the felt recoil is awesome. I even ran a couple of 3" magnum #2 thru it and they did not take my arm off like normal.
I'm happy!! On to the next upgrade. Maybe a heat shield.

I have an ATI M4 adjustable and an ATI Forward Pistol Grip. Just got back from teh range and shot a few boxes and no problems even though I have a red bruise.

:thewave

Have shot with the Knoxx SpecOps and its a must buy. Recoil is cut down in half... There is a dramatic difference.
