it was just text engraving so nothing to do with refinishing. I took it in that morning and picked it up that afternoon. They were a bit freaked out when i asked if they could engrave on a gun slide. I had to assure them that i would not be bringing the "entire" gun, just the part to be worked on.

I'm willing to bet that if you can find an online example of what you like you can take it to a local laser engraver and they can do it for you without worrying about shipping.
