I guess I lack in the creativity department. I work in Information Technology (10+ years and counting) and acquired my CHL this year. I think I was also user number 2007 on the forum by a lucky coincidence. :cool:

It is what I will always carry, and I try to live life like I am not a day older than 45.

That last part gets harder everyday!

Short for "numismatist", another hobby of mine. Even though I have read Ed McGiverns book I do resist the use of one hobby as target practice for another.

A coin collector.

I'm a ham radio operator (yes, another one). It's my callsign.

Both of my sons just became involved in Scouting and I am involved as an assistant den leader. The first two number are the year of my birth and the last two is for the year that we started our adventure in Scouting.

Welcome Scout7507. I spent many memorable hours with my son in scouting. It goes by fast so enjoy every minute of it.

G-ma is short for Grandma ... first coined by one of our Grandchildren, and it stuck. Now, with my new gun shooting hobby, I suppose the "G" could stand for "gun." What fun!

wo5m wrote:Mine originates from amateur radio. wo5m is the callsign that was issued by the FCC. I use it on just about every public forum. Also I’m not the only radio operator on here. I know of at least one other there may be more.

If you where to google my callsign you would find out more about me than googling my name. :smile:
Operator here as well, KK5WC. Havent used it since 1997 when I was active in HAM but still keep it renewed and hope to get a 2m rig for Christmas.

As for my name, well:
Medic=Paramedic
FF=Firefighter (formerly, changing careers)
0879= My birthday and year

I really enjoy reading this thread. I have never posted on a forum before, although I have read various forums for many years. So, when I decided to join this one, I needed a username. Well, I am a Project Engineer with a service company that designs subsea tooling for the offshore oil industry. I did a quick look around and nobody was using Toolguy. Much better than some of the other names I have been called (the Oil Patch can be rough). My other choice would have been ROVToolguy. Not bad either, but more typing.

Given my military background (8 years in the U.S. Army) and the fact that I own a Beretta M9 (the military version of the Beretta 92FS), the choice of user names was quite simple.
