pocket pistol ideas?
I am looking for ideas from you all for pocket pistols. I do not have one now, but after using my wife's .22LR Ruger Lite Rack LCP as a pocket pistol while she was recovering from back surgery, I decided I liked it. I want a pocket pistol. This would be in addition to my EDC, which is a Glock 26 at this time.
While I enjoyed having the Lite Rack .22 in my pocket, I really want a more potent caliber. Any ideas and suggestions would be very helpful.

I used to carry a North American Arms Guardian 380 in my hip pocket as a backup gun or carry gun when I wasn't allowed to open carry.

Re: pocket pistol ideas?
As for pocket pistols I like the Sig P938 and P238.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

Re: pocket pistol ideas?
i like superfly pocket holsters to reduce "printing"
in a SuperFly holster (cheaper elsewhere) https://www.desantisholster.com/super-fly/
380 pocket pistol
Ruger lcp Max (12+1 rounds .380)
and for ultra deep concealment LW Seecamp .380 (ultra small, but heavy and less capacity
9mm
I like the price but not the trigger on GX4 (love gun & price HATE the trigger)
Taurus Gx4 13+1 rounds 9mm (in a superfly pocket holster)
Springfield Hellcat 13+1 ( I love this one)
Sig p365 love it too
above is with the 13 rd mags which fit my jeans & slacks, there's also
smaller 11/12 rd mags for small pockets and the
15 rd mags available for belt or cargo pocket carry
lower capacity small 9mm
p9 or cw9 from kahr has good reviews
(since I got held up by FIVE (5) armed guys once, and 2 armed guys another time, capacity is a concern of mine, plus Babyface nelson was shot like 13 to 18 times before killing 2 FBI angst then going home to have dinner before bleeding out. Placement matters, capacity can matter too with multiple gang-type/RIOTer-type/ attackers.)

Re: pocket pistol ideas?
Thanks for those ideas sir! I had not considered the GX4, Hellcat, nor the 365 as pocket pistols. I have looked into the LCP Max. I shall endeavor to study the 9mm choices presented thus far. I like the .380 ideas, but am not enamored with stocking another caliber.NotRPB wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 6:38 am i like superfly pocket holsters to reduce "printing"

Keep the ideas coming guys. Great suggestions thus far.

I like the S&W Chief Special Lightweight. It is 5 shot of .38 or .357 depending on what you choose. You can shoot through the pocket if need be. On my bad health days that is all I carry except I add a speed loader.

Totally understand about the bad health days Carl! Hope you are not having too many of them. I had one of those type of days today. I have a 642 but don't like just having 5 shots, hence the search for a semi auto.

Re: pocket pistol ideas?
For years, and still on occasion, i carried a Keltec P3AT. Nice little small .380 that fits nicely into my pocket. Had a friend make me a leather holster that resembles a wallet that has worked well for me. I have also now "acquired" from my wife, a Sig P938. I like it probably as much if not more that the P3AT but it is slightly larger. Both are very reliable and shoot well. The only issue I have with the P3AT is I have large hands and it doesn't fit my grip as well as the 938. However, both are BUG's so if I need them either would work.
General rule of thought, if you pocket carry every day as I do, you will (or should) clean them more often because of pocket lint. When all I had was the P3AT, I would clean it weekly.

Re: pocket pistol ideas?
I have a Ruger LCP II in .22 LR and an LCR in .38/.357 for pocket pistols. I use them mostly in a belly band when I go to the gym and can't carry my normal EDC, a full size Glock. In other situations, in my pocket as either a backup or when I may not need a full size gun. Great BUG's. The LCP II in .22 can be finicky with ammo. But it wasn't hard to find something that was reliable.

Re: pocket pistol ideas?
Thanks Jose, that .22LR LCP II is the one I was pocketing during her rehab. While I enjoyed it, I want a larger caliber. I have a 642 in .38 special and could carry that. I just wish it had boot grips. The grips it came with are the three fingered wood ones. It pokes out of my jeans pockets. If I cannot find a suitable pocket 9mm, I may just see about getting boot grips for the 642. I have never tried, but I assume I can order a set?Jose_in_Dallas wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 11:22 pm I have a Ruger LCP II in .22 LR and an LCR in .38/.357 for pocket pistols. Re: pocket pistol ideas?
Sig P365 in an Alabama Holster pocket holster completely disappears in the pocket of my shorts.
10 in the mag plus a spare mag gives me 21 rounds of rapid fire 9mm goodness - perfect for a low profile trip to Walmart.
Trigger is very good. I use the Wilson grip module.

That sounds wonderful! Thanks for your input. I hear Hickok 45 mentioning Alabama holster on many of his videos.Excaliber wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 7:00 am Sig P365 in an Alabama Holster pocket holster completely disappears in the pocket of my shorts.
