Pepper spray, what to look for?
So the poll got me thinking, my wife is interested in a CHL, but now is not the time for her, just to many dippers and what not in her life right now. So I think pepper spray is a good idea.
What do I look for?

Look under sprays and carriers....they carry Fox labs which is the best IMO.
Good prices and great customer service.

I use this because it slides right inside of my waiste band (easy to get to) and makes a great key chain.

And remember, check the wind first before deploying that stuff! Lots of "Joe and Jane Blows" end up squirting themselves instead of the bad guy with these sprays. Training is your friend...

You might look at the Kimber "LifeAct Guardian Angel", which uses a pyro charge rather than compressed gas to propel the spray. It has the advantage of very high gas speeds, and won't slowly loose pressure over time. Disadvantage is that it is a two-shot device only, and it is bulky compared to other pepper sprays out there.

The folks at comp-tac will fix you up with the Fox Labs product.
I've made several purchases from them for gifts to friends and family.
Best customer service around.
I believe there is a 3 year guarentee from the mfg. from date of purchase.
Good Luck.

Looking at the ingredients, it appears to be very heavy duty stuff.

I think the only thing lacking in the pain department at Fox is some kind of voltage. It has everything else!
fwiw, the foam version cuts way down on the overspray, blowback, and secondary exposure. I don't plan to cuff, wrestle, or otherwise touch someone that's been hosed either.

One thing to look for,if this hasnt already been mentioned, is to look for a spray that is oil based and not water based.I've learned this b/c my husband is a correctional officer and has used ALOT of gas and spray over his 16 year career with TX Dept of Corrections. The water based type can come off easily if the problem individual is sweating whereas the oil based will stick to the skin better and really do its job.
