If I can’t dress around it I pocket carry a Ruger LCP II in .380 (yep, I know some don’t like that caliber either)
Usually also carry a Kershaw folder I got as a freebie for ordering an instruction DVD
But I can’t carry at all at work. Thank goodness I can lock it in the truck.

Been lurking for a while. Been shooting (not as regularly as I should) for about a dozen years. May not be able to contribute much, but the whole recent anti-NRA mess after the Florida school shooting and the upcoming “outlaw all guns” marches motivated me to finally register. Been an NRA member since the year I got my carry license.

Hi, I'm 47 year old male.
I work as an IT consultant for an Oil Company in South Texas.
My LTC just went to the 'mailed' status today, so I haven't actually carried yet.
I have a Ruger 9E, I know it's kind of a large gun to conceal. But I purchased it before I actually considered carrying.
I bought it because I love it, 17 round magazines and it just fit my hand well.

So I purchased a Black Arch holster, the ADM 2 clip IWB holster.
Both the holster and my license went into the mail today.

The License came first, YAY!
Makes sense, it came from Austin, not even a hundred miles away, holster is coming from Utah. USPS tracking says Monday arrival.

Congrats on receiving your new license. You'll like being able to carry most places. You'll also need to get a gun belt to complete your carry rig. Dont forget to do your Wally walk. Congrats again and stay safe. :tiphat:

No Wally-Walk yet. First public walk ended up being a Taco Bell. Actually cool, a few people but not a crowd.
Next day did H-E-B, much more crowded.
And today did a Farmers Market, a Flea Market and a restaurant.

I thought I was going to be paranoid, thinking everyone would be looking at me. But it didn’t take long to realize that’s just not the case. My wife didn’t even know I was carrying, and she knew I just got the license.

Now I need to find a range that will allow me to practice drawing from concealed holster.

Hello guys/gals.

I was last on this forum years ago shortly after I got my CHL. I came back on to offer suggestions & advice to those who are new to LTC in Texas.

I am a middle aged USPSA/IDPA competitor that sidelines as a international sales and marketing agent in South Texas. I also a revolver fanatic and I've been carrying my 4" heavy barrel S&W mod 10 for yrs. I carry outside the waist in a DeSantis thumb break speed scabbard however I throw over a unbuttoned short sleeve collared shirt over it. I do that for comfort, style & ease of a quick draw from undercover. When I'm at home cutting the grass or going out for walks around the neighborhood I'll slip in my little Kel Tec P32.

Good afternoon y'all!

I should have my LTC card in a week or so. Print pending at this time, with an email that stated 10-14 days for snail mail.
AD USAF of over 20 years.
My username is based off of my AFSC.
Lived/Stationed in Texas for 2.5 years and will be retiring here in a year.
Originally from CA (I will never go back), but Texas is where I should have been born.
Love to hunt, drown worms, mountain bike, and throw my arm out playing softball. The shooting range has been my latest vice, especially now that my wife is enjoying shooting as well.

Happy to be here! Love the forum. :thumbs2:
