What to do in a riot?

#1

Post by Turban cowboy »

I had someone pose a question to me at school, which was intriguing to say the least.

Hypothetical situation:
If you are in your car or walking, and suddenly riots break out, and you or your car is attacked by multiple rioters, can the victim use lethal force? What would be so considered self defense? Are there any cases where this has occurred? Would it be justified?

In my opinion, my car becomes my best weapon. If I am able to drive, in any direction to escape, that's what I will do, if rioters get injured because of this, I'll take my chances in court. If I am walking and I am attacked by a group of people (Texas law defines a riot as a group of 7 or more) Then my gun is out as I extricate myself, if I have to use deadly force, again, I'll take my chances in court.

This has occurred, in LA after the Rodney King trial verdict, rioters attacked motorists, including a truck driver, pulled them from their vehicles and beat them. Stay in your car, it is your best weapon, no one is strong enough to stop a moving vehicle.JMHO

Yes. As has already been stated, first course of action would be to start running people over, if for some reason you were forced to stop then the firearms come out to play. Look up the video of the guy and his family who were mobbed by a gang of bikers a couple years back. Dude started running people over when they tried to pull him out of his car. He ended up getting assaulted but not before paralyzing one of them and hitting a bunch of others. Charges were filed against the bikers and none against him. Perfect scenario for what you are talking about.

I believe my strategy would be the same as the SOP for SR-71 pilots when under attack; accelerate and leave the threat behind you.

MY home state is having a riot in Charlotte right now. I will be driving through there soon. This is pure crapola. They have already attacked two women and their kids. They attacked truck drivers too. I will be avoiding those areas but make no mistake we will be armed. The best thing to do is avoid the areas at all cost. If you're being attacked escort your family to safety.

Just a sample of what will happen when the government teat goes dry.

As other have stated, stay in your vehicle and keep moving, if somehow your stopped then the first one that reaches in through a broken window dies from acute .45 poisoning!

Spot on.

You think it's bad now? Just wait...

But yes, I agree with removing myself from the hot zone asap. Any thug that tries to stop me from exiting the situation will be dealt with lethal force, as getting dragged out and beaten definitely qualifies.

What if you are stuck in the traffic jam caused by the rioting and your car is gridlocked?

Another thread with this scenario going on but drive you way out and if that doesn't work start shooting your way out.
