OK. That pretty much rules out anything inside the pistol. The safety detent is actually a ball bearing & spring. You can see the ball bearing on the left side of the pistol. The left safety lever is the only thing holding the ball in. Get some lube on that ball & work the safety on & off a bunch of times. UNLOADED, of course.Canon1d4 wrote:Thanks for the advice, I just tried that but it is the same, it may be that it's just tight and will work itself out in time.Pawpaw wrote:My P938 had the same problem after I loaned it out. Try this: With the hammer cocked, the safety is hard to engage. Pull the hammer back and hold it. Does the safety engage easily? That''s the way mine behaved with the broken sear pin.

Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence. - John Adams

True, it takes several hundred rounds and some cleaning to break in. I still struggle with the recoil spring assembly.Canon1d4 wrote:Thanks for the advice, I just tried that but it is the same, it may be that it's just tight and will work itself out in time.Pawpaw wrote:My P938 had the same problem after I loaned it out.
