Odd Situation
All, I have had something come up that I haven't dealt with before so I'd like your advice. I am teaching a class this week. The classroom portion was Mon & Tues evening. We will be doing the range on Sunday. I found out one of the people from the class (who successfully passed the written / classroom portion) will not be available to go to the range on Sunday because he has to go out of town, and in fact may not be back until mid-August. I'm not sure how to fill out the class completion form. Do I fill out two? One for the others and then one for him when he gets back?

Re: Odd Situation
I would fill out two.
One for the students that complete the class then and one for him when he completes the course.
Cant put him down with the rest since he has not completed the course them.
Now on the CHL-100 it does have two different places for when it was completed for each , so you cant put the dates when it was done.

Re: Odd Situation
Yeah that was my plan. I've already filled out the classroom portion of the 100 form, and I'm just going to hold that until he completes the range. As for the completion form, I'll just send in the one for the others after the range this week, and I'll do one for him when he gets back. Thanks for the input.garcia946 wrote:I would fill out two.

Re: Odd Situation
This exact question came up in class last week and DPS said to place the person on two class lists- list the persons name on the and make a notation- range portion and even notate the date of classroom portion.

Re: Odd Situation
Charlie is correct. I have attached a copy of the Certification of Class Completion and the instructions require us to put "Classroom only" or "Proficiency only" in the column that used to have the Certificate (TR-100) number.
You didn't ask, but the follow up question is how to handle the CHL-100. DPS gives us two options; 1) fill out only the classroom portion of the CHL-100 and give it to the student; or 2) you keep the CHL-100 if the student is coming back to you for the range portion and he/she doesn't want to take the CHL-100.

Re: Odd Situation
Is there no way that the range time can be done this week with the one individual?
