WOW, you got a whole weeks notice! Hope you can make it last minute!

Maybe you did win the lottery! Perhaps that explains why some get notices, and others (that have been trying longer) don't. Maybe DPS has a BIG bingo bin filled the instructor's numbers, and they draw a number or two a day to notify.

I really wonder what will happen on Dec. 31, when they find there are HUNDREDS of instructors that have fallen in the cracks.

I am also concerned that there will be a lot of current instructors that either didn't the word about having an additional teaching cert or the DPS renewal class and are going to be out of luck for teaching the CHL class in 2014.

Has anybody heard about a second series of classes from DPS? My business partner is in Baghdad until January and can't make the renewal class until mid-Jan. He tried contacting Sherri but can't get a reply. If anyone has some insight into this please PM me. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know about trying longer my email went in on Sept 12th, the day I got the first notice. I had taken the 3 days off from classes just in case this happened with the short notice. My 4th instructor renewal so I'm ready for it now, as the 1st renewal I got a 2 day notice, to attend the class in Round Rock.

This morning I received my confirmation to attend the CHL Instructor Renewal Class in Georgetown on Nov 6th. RSD_LSR_CHL was working late last night, as the email was sent at 11:58 p.m. That gives me over 2 weeks of notice, which is more than some have received.

When I log in to the link, it shows my application status and below that the links you are reporting. No clue why it is not showing you a way to renew your license. You will have to call the DPS to see why it's not giving you a renewal option with your log in info.
