Re: TCHA Power Point
Their website is just terrible.
I ordered out of curiosity and took forever to figure it out.
PP's don't make good presentations, the presenter does...

Re: TCHA Power Point
UPS just knocked. It shipped quick, that I can say...
It isn't bad. I probably won't use.
The laws section I would use. Seems to flow ok. Had more content than I would put on slides, not that I wouldn't still cover.
NVDR is the shortest section. May make some of you happy?
I will probably still create my own as I want a certain flow and perspective I won't get from someone else's thought process.
Some of the verbage in the law section was confusing in how it was written. I understood the content, so I could speak through it.
I am a firm believer in turning PP off as you speak from time to time, so as a guide is it worth 45 bucks shipped?
Depends on your level of comfort and time to produce a good pp presentation.
There is a Handout included which looks to be a list of certain gun related websites.
There is a CHL Situations section that is in PDF that describes 3 situations. Not really useful in the presentation.
I do not like that they placed the TCHA logo in each frame. PP 101, you don't need a logo in each frame.

I just received mine, and while it looks like a good professional presentation, It is a good beginning. I will be reworking it a little.

You do if your goal is to discourage people from reusing the content in their own presentation, and or to sell more CDsjmain wrote:I do not like that they placed the TCHA logo in each frame. PP 101, you don't need a logo in each frame.

I bought the downloadable version for $25. Can't say that I will use it as is but will incorporate portions into my PP.

Call me dense (you wouldn't be the first), but I still only see the $30 CD+shipping-via-snail version even on their improved online store (which, to give 'em credit, does appear vastly superior to the previous shopping experience). Did you get yours from TCHA or another group?gpeloq wrote:I bought the downloadable version for $25. Can't say that I will use it...

Does it follow the DPS outline?

I'm the dense one. I purchased it from South Texas CHL Supply. I still get the two mixed up.dogflight wrote:Call me dense (you wouldn't be the first), but I still only see the $30 CD+shipping-via-snail version even on their improved online store (which, to give 'em credit, does appear vastly superior to the previous shopping experience). No worries. It's hard to keep 'em all straight!gpeloq wrote:I'm the dense one. I purchased it from South Texas CHL Supply. I still get the two mixed up.
I second sjfcontrol's question: does that one follow the new outline fairly well?

Re: TCHA Power Point
So for someone like me who isn't great with computer stuff, how easy is it to take their PP and add/delete stuff to customize your presentation?

Re: TCHA Power Point
Well, I finally bought a copy and I am disappointed. Most of the slides are way to general for a good presentation. You can put the slide up and then spend thirty minutes telling the class what it means which seems a waste. Also way to much that needs to be told that is not even mentioned. Maybe it is just me but my modification seems a lot better that trying to modify this one. Yes NVDR is short but does not meet the DPS time guidelines. I did find about six slides that I liked and copied into my presentation. Maybe it just does not fit my teaching style.
