This may have already been answered, which fingerprint card is being accepted? The Texas card or the FBI card?
I have a good supply of each. I didn't see it on the linked thread or on the DPS website.

Thanks!!

I don't know, but since it's being digitized and sent to the FBI, I would use the FBI card.

Thats a good thing to know , I have plenty of each also. Remember at times they do run out of cards and I remember that DPS sent out only DPS cards at one times to me whan I requested student packets.

Either card is acceptable, per the DPS. I had wondered about that previously and was told then and again now that they will still honor either card.

Here is the latest update from DPS:

Here is a link on the DPS website regarding the latest updates:

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administra ... ntInfo.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The department no longer sends packets for application processed online. A checklist is provided at the end of the application process that will indicate what items are required; forms provided by DPS can be found on the DPS website . Affidavits are now part of the online application and will not need to be mailed in by the applicant. New applicants will have the option to make an appointment at the end of the online application to have their fingerprints taken electronically. If the applicant chooses not to utilize the electronic fingerprint process they will need to have their fingerprints printed on APPLICANT cards. Applicant submitting photos for their application will need to present their photos to the person fingerprinting them as is done today.

Photos and fingerprints are no longer required for renewal applications but will be processed if submitted.

Additionally, we will be posting more information regarding the new processes on our website soon.

Regarding the paper applications everything stays the same.

The highlighted part is incorrect; no signatures are required for photos, so they need not be presented to the person rolling the fingerprints. Some, but perhaps not all, L-1 locations are doing photos in addition to digital fingerprints.
