As Papa_Tiger noted, June 18th is the deadline for the Governor to sign, veto or allow certain bills to become law without his signature. I say "certain bills" because it depends upon when in the session they were passed by the Legislature.

If the Governor signs our bills earlier as he as already done with some, then we obviously know at that point. I'm not worried about stand-alone pro-gun bills being vetoed. The only ones that I watch closely are bills that had pro-gun language added as a floor amendment.

Is there a post on here somewhere that recaps what happened this session yet? I know the fee reduction passed and was signed. But I'm unsure of what else went through.

I got an email from TSRA this morning saying that two good items were passed as last minute amendments to other bills.
First, the church security bill passed as part of another bill, but has apparently not been signed yet.
Second, the bill allowing school teachers the same rights as others under the parking lot law was passed as an amendment and is apparently waiting for a signature.

House Bill 3784 (includes language from SB 138) – Sen. Van Taylor (R-Plano) successfully added a Senate floor amendment containing the language from his SB 138 to HB 3784, a bill allowing persons approved by the Texas Department of Public Safety to offer an online course to cover the classroom portion of the required training for a License To Carry. SB 138 exempts active military personnel and veterans who have received firearm instruction as part of their service within the last 10 years to be exempt from the range instruction portion of the LTC course. Sent to governor on May 28. If signed, would take effect on September 1. Please thank Sen. Taylor for sponsoring SB 138 and the author of HB 3784 – Rep. Justin Holland (R-Rockwall) – for agreeing to the amendment to his bill.

Prerequisites for online training vendors: 1) have three-years of experience with offering online training programs, 2) experience working with a governmental agency, and 3) knowledge of handgun instruction.

Hadn't even heard of this Bill till it hit the Governors desk.....
