I tried to drag my wife to vote, she had other plans to complete first. Surely we will try again this week.

during the first few years we were here while taking care of my father-in-law, I finally figured out to vote early.....he was, without fail, in the hospital on election day.....Now, he always voted early, so it wasn't that....I'm not sure what it was, but I was up at BAMC with him 3 years running the first Tues in Nov....I figured out to vote early. It keeps them out of the hospital!

Having been a candidate in an election with pathetically small turnout, three votes wouldn't have come close to changing the outcome, but it would have been nice to see three more in my tally.
:thumbs2:

It was a small-ish town and a close race. I think it came down to seven votes and there was a runoff election because of the narrow margin. Technically three more votes wouldn't have changed the outcome, but it DID matter -- the fact that the man running the elections didn't understand that is what bothered and still bothers me. Seems like when you have abysmal voter turnout and are trying to remedy the problem, the last thing you should be doing is telling your 18-year-old first-time voters that their vote didn't count but it didn't matter anyway. I'll never forget the feeling of knowing that my vote had been wrongly thrown out, there was nothing I could do about it, and no one cared enough to apologize.

I'm going today. I've only missed voting once from 18 to now 57 years old, in a local only election, when I had to be across the country unexpectedly, about 30 years ago. Ever since then I vote during early voting.

If voting made any difference it wouldn’t be legal. I say that in jest so please don’t flame me for it.
I have two homes that are 150 miles apart and I am registered to vote in the one where I am not at presently. But on Thursday I will make the trip and do my duty as a citizen. It has to be done so I will have a good trip and do it. Early voting will almost insure that I won’t have to stand in long lines to get it done.
I will agree with early voting is the best thing to do. I'm going to look into OldGrumpy's plan for the future.

Yes, my first. It took more time to find the place to vote than to vote. Super easy, one Constitutional amendment for transfer of money to complete HW and road project. And, one click for straight vote.

Maybe he is serious. That is what makes our country great, at least used to anyway. The problems with the vote these days are the "irregularities" which should be called criminal when they are committed by anyone, regardless of their party affiliation.

Mrs Anygun and I voted in La Grange for the first time this morning. The early voting premises was quite busy.
