My State Rep Hubert won't tell me his position on HB560. How about yours?

So what are the next steps for SB 11? It goes to committee between House and Senate, right? Then what?
Re: House 5/27 - HB910 or SB11
It goes to concurrence vote in Senate. Where concurrence will probably fail. Then to conference committee.
It's Wednesday May 27th today... so yeah, stick a fork in SB11.

Sorry a bit behind here, you mean "fork" = "done" (passed) or (dead)?v7a wrote:It's Wednesday May 27th today... so yeah, stick a fork in SB11.
and if dead, why? what have I missed now? if House passed the Senate Version, it should be good, right?

The clock would run out before a conference committee could vote on it.

Campus Carry is likely dead.Teamless wrote:Sorry a bit behind here, you mean "fork" = "done" (passed) or (dead)?v7a wrote:It's Wednesday May 27th today... so yeah, stick a fork in SB11.

Because there were changes made to the bill in the House and the Senate is highly unlikely to concur with the changes due to their nature, the bill would have to go to conference committee. Since the last day of the session is the 31st, there isn't enough time for the changes to be made without the conference committee report being filibustered in either the House or Senate.
Re: House 5/27 - HB910 or SB11
The House amendments to SB11 are not going to be accepted by the Senate. In particular the amendment that forces Campus Carry on private universities. This means SB11 goes to conference committee. It's unlikely it gets out of that committee in time to get voted on by both chambers before the session ends.Teamless wrote:and if dead, why? what have I missed now? if House passed the Senate Version, it should be good, right?

While this can happen, we don't know that it will. Gotta keep hope!isa268 wrote:Dead.Teamless wrote:Sorry a bit behind here, you mean "fork" = "done" (passed) or (dead)?v7a wrote:It's Wednesday May 27th today... so yeah, stick a fork in SB11.

Many called SB11 last night at 10pm and look what happened. j/s

Re: House 5/27 - HB910 or SB11
The house version was passed with amendments. It needs to go back to the senate for concurrence, and if not concurred then to a conference committee. I believe the deadline for this to happen is this sunday, which is why some are saying that it (could) die. I don't see the need for pessimism as many have said a few times during this session that SB11 was going to die along with HB910.Teamless wrote:Sorry a bit behind here, you mean "fork" = "done" (passed) or (dead)?v7a wrote:It's Wednesday May 27th today... so yeah, stick a fork in SB11.
