Just remember, the Republican leadership arranged for them to win. There's a reason this bill was parked for over two months after it came from the Senate, and it wasn't because there were too many resolutions honoring John Wayne that had to be heard first.

If SB 11 (Campus Licensed Carry of a Handgun) fails to pass and someone's loved one on campus is assaulted and unable to defend themselves, all the opponents of the bill will surely regret their decisions.

I may be misremembering, ala Brian Williams, I think he said he would bring it to the floor for a vote. He did that knowing full well the deck was stacked against it.

:iagree: This thread started at 8:53am this morning. I've watched the ENTIRE session, save for 2 hours. yWith 43 minutes remaining, this bill is as good as dead, I'm sorry to say.

I'm tired, disappointed, disgusted, and sick to my stomach. I had such high hopes for this bill passing, noting the past pledges and statements from the House & Senate leaders, and beyond. All not to be. This is a bitter pill to swallow.

SewTexas, I wish you success. And with that, good night, God Bless you all, and God Bless Texas.
honestly, it's just been on as background as I've been working on other stuff. I pretty much feel the same as you.

good night

And now with the passing of SB19, we'll never know since the House made it illegal to record the Legislators at the Capitol without their permission.

I am well aware that Republicans set this up. Strauss set it up to fail. He needs to be gone!

Maybe the Governor can issue an executive order and put it in effect (I know he can't)

A special session s in order
04/01/2013 - Online application
06/22/2013 - Plastic in hand
75 days - mailbox to mailbox
03/17 - renewal - 42 days plastic in hand

I'm curious as to what some of the amendments are.

"Amendment 19: Strike the semi-colon from paragraph 2, line 3, and add a colon"

"Amendment 32: Capitalize "school""

"Amendment 45: Opt out only if you have an 'A', 'E', and/or 'X' in the school name"
