I'm tellin ya. We aren't getting past amendment 1. This is just sad. This bill would pass if put to a vote. All they can do is stall tactics.Aggie_engr wrote:Long line at the back mic, taking closing questions for amendment 1.TexasJohnBoy wrote:Terrible.K5GU wrote:How's the Campus Carry (SB 11) bill going?

Speaking for myself, I listened to him speak during debate on open carry. I heard and saw his behavior, his reasoning, his arguments and drew conclusions from that.ScooterSissy wrote:Some of you folks really don't seem to like Strickland. Why?

Why?Do you have any personal knowledge that Representative Strickland has left to get a cheesburger? I doubt it.if they aren't paying attention or have all gone out to join Stickland for a cheeseburger

Students for Concealed Carry on Campus posted this a few minutes ago:
"Texas Senate Bill 11 is currently being heard on the floor of the Texas House. It appears that the author had to agree to an opt-out amendment in order to end the chub (filibuster). We can only hope that any gutting amendments that get attached in the House will be stripped off in conference committee."

They just completely gutted the bill. So much for that. Even if it passes, CC will be worthless.

Isn't this amendment being offered by a so called "R"?TexasJohnBoy wrote:I think the R's have given up.
This has to be a Straus strategy, otherwise he would withdraw the amendment and move to vote on the bill.
This amendment will kill the bill.
