Wasn't another bill postponed until 8pm? So that puts three bills ahead of SB11?

I can't fathom why you guys are abusing yourselves like this. Campus carry is dead. D-E-A-D. Give it up. Go have a beer. Shoot some targets. Stop beating your heads against the wall.

And there was absolutely no reason for it to sit on Calendars for as long as it did. What's it been, 2 weeks since SB 11 was sent to the House?baldeagle wrote:I can't fathom why you goes are abusing yourselves like this. Campus carry is dead. D-E-A-D. Give it up. Go have a beer. When the speaker purposefully stalls and delays it until it's up against the stroke of midnight? Sure.Ruark wrote:I was talking about SB11, not SB19. Can they deliberately load a bill up with silly, pointless amendments, just to sink it?txyaloo wrote:SB19 isn't going to be killed. They're just running the clock down so SB11 doesn't come up or doesn't have enough time to discuss all 100+ amendments.Ruark wrote:Is it possible to kill a bill by simply amending it to death with umpteen zillion amendments? Seems like there would be a workaround - like the speaker could stand up and say "OK, just vote on it the way it is, yea or nay."

Now Patrick can tell his folks not to concur with the open carry amendment differences to get back at Straus and we end up empty handed.

I think it's up to the house to concur, not the Senate.
That's it, I'm done. Yall have fun.

Yeah, you are probably right. I've lost track in my frustration.TexasJohnBoy wrote:I think it's up to the house to concur, not the Senate.

Because when I take this issue to my representatives or join a campaign to unseat said reps I want to know "why" for myself and not read regurgitated information from the msm.baldeagle wrote:I can't fathom why you guys are abusing yourselves like this. Speaking of beer, how do you think I've mad it this far?
Re: SB11 Campus Carry House Floor Debate 5/26/15
They're on Amendment 31. I'm retiring for the night.
I just hope 910 survives this mess, but jeez, it looks like all they'd have to do is load it up with 500 amendments and sink it. I can't believe that's allowed.
Tell me, if that does happen, will all fingers point at Huffines?

I think it was postponed until approx. 6:00pm, so there is another bill.Aggie_engr wrote:Wasn't another bill postponed until 8pm? So that puts three bills ahead of SB11?

There is no debate or amendments on concurrence votes. It's just a vote.Ruark wrote:I just hope 910 survives this mess, but jeez, it looks like all they'd have to do is load it up with 500 amendments and sink it. I can't believe that's allowed.

SB206 was postponed to 6:30 and SB9 was postponed until 8. That's at least 2 ahead of 11.Charles L. Cotton wrote:I think it was postponed until approx. 6:00pm, so there is another bill.Aggie_engr wrote:Wasn't another bill postponed until 8pm? So that puts three bills ahead of SB11?
