SB11 & HB910 This week....

Re: SB11 & HB910 This week....
I believe HB910 has 7 stages; tonight it passed the Senate as stage 5. I believe the next stage ( 6 ) is Gov. Abbott's signature and then stage 7, this bill becomes law, effective Jan 1, 2016!

Also for what it's worth, Dan Patrick is saying it needs to go back to the house.

So if it goes back to the House, is it de facto dead because they won't get it done?

Dan Patrick on Facebook:
That vote count is wrong, btw. Apparently Ellis got recorded as voting YES on final passage but he's going to correct with the clerk to NO.The Senate passed out Open Carry nearly two months ago to the House. The Senate Bill was not taken up by the House. They passed their Open Carry over to us instead.
With the clock running out and only days to go we moved the House bill on Open Carry, very similar to our original bill, tonight.
After almost 8 hrs of debate on the floor the bill finally passed 20-11
It is now up to the House to agree with the bill, which I believe they will, and then it goes to the Governor
The House has also had Campus Carry bill for two months. They have agreed to pass that bill in the next few days.

Any idea what will happen once it gets back to the house?
Re: SB11 & HB910 This week....
Does anyone know if the House is meeting on the floor tomorrow?

They have a whole day dedicated to concurrence votes, which only need to pass with a simple majority. I'm not "in the know" but I don't think passing it will be that much of an issue. Of course, those more connected may correct me.K.Mooneyham wrote:So if it goes back to the House, is it de facto dead because they won't get it done?

Why did Ellis (and most of the Dems) vote yes on the second reading but no on final 3rd reading? Is that common?v7a wrote:That vote count is wrong, btw. Apparently Ellis got recorded as voting YES on final passage but he's going to correct with the clerk to NO.
