I think these just came out. Gregg was at PSC about 2 or 3 weeks ago and said they were just about to be released.

Now they make something like that after I went through all the trouble to mount my CTAC to a piece of leather.

Comp-Tac is distributing them and is providing the kydex body for the holster, but the MTAC is officially "made" by Minotaur holsters. Looks like a good design that I will have to look into in the not-too-distant future. There are a couple of threads about this over on GlockTalk, and someone over there has one on order, so we might get a review soon.

Figures. I just bought a CTAC (I absolutely love it!), but I can see where the leather backing would make it much more comfortable.

That looks like a nice holster BUT, it looks nearly identical to Tucker Gunleather's, "The Answer" holster.

Tucker's Answer has Kydex only on the outside of the holster. The gun is against the leather on the inside. The MTAC completely encases the gun in Kydex. I imagine this would have to make the MTAC slightly quicker (leather drags more) but also slightly less flexible and a little thicker (by the thickness of the inside Kydex and molding clearances). I'm intrigued, especially at a price some $50 less than the Tucker and with Comp-Tac's excellent customer service standing behind it.

But at $125, The Answer is almost twice as much.

That's intersting. Especially since Comp-Tac makes the kydex parts that Tucker's uses.

Looks like it would solve the retention issues that The Answer has. Not that it's a huge issue, but it would be better if it kept a little firmer hold on the weapon.

Not true--the kydex only covers half of the gun, just like The Answer.

So has anyone tried this holster yet? How thick is it compared to the regular CTAC or say the Dakota Defender from K&D holsters?

Oops! You're right. I either mis-read the description or made a bad assumption. It's an "Answer" for a little over half of Tucker's price.
