I carry a glock 19. Wanting a mag holster. What are you guys using? Would like a 2 mag. Seen a Blackhawk I think would work. Thoughts...

I only carry one extra mag, but for what it's worth, I carry it in a nylon tool pouch (like for a leatherman multitool). Nice and discrete.

I use a WRB double mag pouch that I picked up at a gun show years ago.

I've used the same one for several years and it shows no wear. I like the double clip design. I can attach one clip on each side of a belt loop and the pouch doesn't move around.

It ain't pretty... It ain't fancy... It just gets the job done.

I find the deep mag carriers like this one don't allow me to get enough purchase on the magazine to draw it reliably under stress without fumbling.

I prefer the types that expose 1/3 to 1/2 of the magazine to facilitate a solid initial grip.

Examples can be viewed here and here.

^^^^^^^^^^^^ Agreed.

If I can't get a solid purchase with my thumb and middle finger (index finger aligned with spine of magazine), then it feels very awkward (to me) and the effects of 'stress' can not be overstated. Good point.

My spare mags are Tripp Research Cobras. With their flared baseplate, I have no trouble at all drawing a mag. As you say, I use my thumb and middle finger, with my index finger along the front of the mag.

I carry a Glock 23 and I use a Fobus 6909SF with one 15 round magazine and a surefire p2x fury.

I like them to match my gun holster. ;-) I prefer leather over Kydex/plastic also. No reason other than looks and feel.

I get mine from Tom with 2A Holsters. One man shop so expect some slight delays, but he is very good at communications with regards to your wants/needs. I have the attached. We are working on making a second kydex shell so I can use same holster for single or double stack.
