I'm looking for Left Handed Holster suggestions for either my Kimber Ultra CDP 2 or my Springfield XD 9MM. I have found many nice holster for behind the back or in the pants but most of them are for right handed draw only. Does anyone have a favorites to suggest that i can try for left handed draw?

Personally, I'm very happy with my (um, technically my husband's) Crossbreed. He has the supertuck and I'm waiting on the minituck. When you order, you choose left- or right-hand draw. The major down side is that you're looking at waiting two months or more, unless you find what you want on their separate seconds page. Which is why I'm using my husband's holster. I did order my belt from the seconds page and it arrived quickly.
The holster is a little stiff on arrival, but once you've got it broken in it's extremely comfortable and I like the level of retention it offers. I started carrying on Tuesday and have been completely comfortable, even being new to carrying -- and that's everything from grocery shopping to rolling on the floor with the kids. Combined with a good belt (I got mine from their seconds page at half price), it's a great setup. In all fairness, I haven't tried any other brand, but I've got no complaints and don't feel a need to go looking for anything better.

Welcome to the Forum!
You can go ahead and find a place in your home to store "holsters." Probably almost everyone on this forum have about 10 holsters we do not use.
I know after my LEO years I went through probably 100 different holsters still I finally found the style I like to use the most. I use the Alessi CQC-S holster for OWB and the Comp-Tac Infidel for IWB.
Be sure to let us know how you like your new holster.

My experience is that most of the reputable holster manufacturers offer left-hand models, but you'll probably have to order online and there may be an extra wait since they're less likely to be stocking items. I've rarely seen anything but cheap generic (non-molded) lefty holsters in stores around here.
I have a hybrid style holster from FOXX holsters for my 1911 commander that I'm happy with. Comfortable, tuckable, and it conceals well.

I have had holsters from Comp-tac for several years. They are custom made upon order, and it takes about 2 days to get one, not bad for a left-handed P7M8 IWB holster. Try finding one of those on the rack at Cabela's! I also have one for P-226.

I no longer own the 3" Kimber 1911 or the HK USP Compact .40, or the Kahr CW45 that those various holsters were purchased for, so anything to do with those guns just sits in my holster drawer gathering dust until the day when I either sell them, or buy another gun to fit them.
I probably own more holsters than the average bear, but I am in a situation where I really had to do some hunting around to find holsters that work for me. Partly, it's just being left-handed. There are almost never any "off the rack" left-handed holsters in stores that you can try on, nor do I have a ton of left-handed friends who carry, so I can't borrow theirs and wear it around for a bit.......or if I do, we don't have the same gun, etc., etc. The other reason I have a lot of unused holsters is that I have a really bad chronic back problem which has deteriorated over the years I've been carrying. Some holsters, like the DM Bullard for 3" 1911 above, just never worked that well for me from the beginning simply because of my body shape, and others, like pretty much
all of the IWB choices, I had to stop wearing because they caused me pain.......not at first, but after wearing them for a while. Anyway, since I don't really get an opportunity to try them on and wear them around for a bit, I have ended up buying a lot of holsters that in the end just didn't work out for me.
It's part of the hidden cost of carrying a gun.

I will say that I plan to revisit the MTAC and get holster bodies for my XDM and XDS. The holster bodies are inexpensive, and that was the one IWB holster that worked for me. It was just that with the larger guns it caused me pain. I'm thinking that with the XDS, it might be pretty good.
