Looking for a tuckable that really works

My EDC is a Glock 30. I usually carry it in a belly band and am very satisfied with the BB's ability to conceal the 30 in all situations. But I'd also like to try an alternative. I have tried a Remora 10ART RFT tuckable and I've also tried a High Noon tuckable. With both of them, I end up looking like the Hunchback of Notre Dame with a fallen hump, or like the guy in "Alien" just before the cute little alien baby bursts through his skin!
I carry at the 4 o'clock position, sometimes 4:30 to 5. I'm looking for suggestions on tuckables that really work and also advice on what I might be doing wrong with my exisiting tuckables. I'm 5'10" and weigh 185, and about average in body build. I know to pull the tucked shirt out and blouse it a little, but that doesn't seem to help too much.

the biggest thing I think people take for granted is their belt.
You need to be sure you are using a true gun belt.
A "thick leather belt" will not work properly, the gun will sway over/away from the body.
Get a good belt with Kydex reinforcement.
the 2nd thing, and probably the most important is get a good holster.
The Remora, while it may work some what, a Crossbreed, Comptac, or similar with good leather and/or Kydex reinforcement is almost a must.
Proper sized pants are a must, normally 1 size larger than you normally would use
Proper shirts also, again, normally a bit larger, or "Tall" will cover nice and easy.
But back to the belt, you just cant skimp on a good gun belt.
My first, was a Crossbreed belt, about $80
Then I found the Blackhawk (leather with Kydex for about $30, and the Blackhawk was 10 times better than the Crossbreed,
So I am not saying to spend a lot of money, there are ways to do it reasonable.

And you are using a super stiff
kydex reinforced double layered leather gun belt like this?
http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=43" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Teamless beat me to it ... and offered good kydex at lower price belts too

I've had very good luck with the Comp-Tac MTAC. Good amount of space for tucking, and quite comfortable to wear.

I have tucked a .380 with a belly band, I use either a Kholster or Tucker Heritage for my 9mm (M&P 9C) with no problem on tucking, and have used with cami type shirts untucked and tees tucked as well. Hubby uses and MTac for the same sidearm. The above responses are spot on about what a difference a belt makes - I doubted until I was able to try one at a local "tactical" store. HUGE difference.

One of the biggest problems with tuckable is that the holster clips are still visibile when your shirt is tucked in. If you've got a holster like a Crossbred and there are two holster clips, so the tuckable while doesn't pattern your gun, it doesn't totally mask that you're carrying.

I have had zero luck with a tucked in t-shirt and ANY holster as well. G30, G17, G26, M&P9c, SP101.. at least 3 holsters for each, and I haven't been able to tuck my shirt in.
Ok, I can tuck my shirt in, and I can even blouse out m shirt enough so that there is no print of a gun..... but it looks ugly, unorganized.. strange. My shoulders are broader than my waist, and when I tuck a dress shirt into slacks without a gun, everything looks nice and slim and neat. I When I blouse the shirt out around the gun, things look strange and I look disproportional. Also, the gun+holster make slacks fall in a strange way, at least in my experimentation. I don't think the holsters are my problem.. I think it has more to do with the vanity factor than anything else. This is one of those occasions I just use an ankle holster.

That's onw of the reasons why I suggest you go with something other than Crossbreed - Comp-Tac and White Horse Holsters both offer velcro clips that fit UNDER the belt, so there's nothing visible to say "hey, I'm armed". The J-hook clips which are also available are a lot less visible than the big black clips that are on the Crossbreed. And, if you want colored clips, to match pants or belt, the Comp-Tac also offers that possibility. All told, there are a lot of ways to hide the fact that you're wearing an IWB.

Crossbreed will sell you Velcro clips as well.

It sounds like you're just uncomfortable shifting away from a very 'dialed in' personal style. If it's that important to you to have your shirt tucked in that snugly, then ankle holster is about the best alternative that springs to mind.

Yeah, that is pretty much it. And my wife complains about me looking "frumpy" when I tuck a shirt around a gun. Ankle or pocket.. Sad day.

Do you ever wear a nice shirt, untucked & unbuttoned, over a t shirt? I'm in my 40s, but still feel reasonably stylish wearing a nice linen/silk/etc short sleeved, unbuttoned shirt over a snug black t-shirt. It's a far, far more stylish & unobtrusive cover garment than a photographer's vest!
That would let you wear IWB without offending your wife's sensibilities...
I'm about your size - 5'11", 180 #, and don't get hung up about blousing my shirt

I do. I wear un-buttoned short sleeves with t-shirts frequently. I'm mid-late 20's, and most occasions I can get away with slacks and a long sleeved dress shirt un-tucked. I do this for Mass and the like. It's not very often that I am
forced to tuck in my shirt and change carry style, but for example, yesterday I went to a wedding and wore slacks/tucked in shirt. I could have worn a jacket and gone OWB or the like.. but it was just too hot.
I don't mind pocket and ankle carry though...

I hear you. I like wearing a sport coat, but in this heat it's just silly to try it.

This one of the reasons why when I need to tuck, I went with a smaller pistol (P238) and a pocket holster for those occassions. Other than that, it's my standard pistol (G19) with IWB holster.
