I swallowed hard and spent the coin for an Andrews Monarch shoulder holster last winter. Have been very pleased with it. The back strap is a significant improvement to the traditional should holster design.

Please educate me.... what is a "shoulder/belt" type holster? I own a shoulder holster, and I own a number of belt holsters, but I don't know what a "shoulder/belt" holster is. Not trying to be a smartie-pants.

I wondered about that, too. Come to think of it, the Andrews Monarch includes belt loops on the gun holster. You can remove it from the soulder straps and wear it as an OWB holster. Haven't tried that, though.

Im sorry for not being more specific on that. Yea my father lives in Louisiana so he gets to open carry ,and he had said he wanted a sholder holster. so I decided to get him one for his birthday and wanted him to be able to pick between shoulder carry or owb. So to kill two birds with one stone just try to find a set of some sort.

I can't say that I've ever seen a set of two holsters offered like that, and don't think it's worth hunting for such a thing. The Monarch that can be belt-mounted is about the closest thing I can think of.

I think that one of the shoulder rigs in the Cheaper Than Dirt catalog does that double duty...I don't have a catalog handy to confirm though.
