Hi I was wondering if any one has used a holster made by AKJ Concealco. I'm at a toss up between it and a Comp-tac CTAC. I've heard great things about the CTAC but have not heard much about the AKJ. What I have heard is good though. I will be using the holster to carry an H&K USP compact, 40 cal. Thanks for any and all input.

Strange you should mention it: I just ordered one. I'll let you know what I think whenever I finally get it (6-8 weeks or so.)

There is nothing finer than a Comp Tac! Comfy and fast! Have one for the Ruger SP101, another for my XD Service, and the third for my sweet 1911. You can't go wrong with C-Tac! You hear a lot of nice things about 'em...for very good reason!

Well I wore my C-Tac for the last two days ALL day and I am really liking it alot. I never thouht that a mostly Kydex holster would "break in" but it has. I think the leather tabs get more soft and shaped to your body making it more comfy. At first I was a little disappointed. But I think it was a combo of not normally carrying a gun (let alone IWB carry) and the stiffness of the leather tabs at first. C-Tac will get my recomendation. CAn't speak on the other though.

Comp-Tac gets the nod from over here. Comfortable, appears that it will last for a very long time, and thier customer service is first rate.
I have no experience with the other although they look like fine holsters.

you better have a loose fitting parachute to wrap around yourself if you plan on effectively concealing a USPC. I had a USPC .45, and while the .40 is smaller, the gun is still huge.
That said...I too have heard great things about the CTAC and nothing of the AKJ.

That is an interresting setup on a holster - with the front stap perpendicular to the rest of the holster instead of the normal parallel. I assume that this works well for carry at or in front of the hip instead of the usual slightly behind the hip on the strong side?

I added a front snap to one of my kydex holsters w/ clip on the side. Did it before I knew of AJK. When I saw it I thought Hey boy that aint so dumb a idea after all. I really like the looks of their holsters w/ sweat shield against the shirt. Good pics maques. Like the rig too. Welcome aboard. Glad to see new guys jumping right in. Expecially w/ good stuff. Yes sir you are a right strapping young lad.

Great rig, conceals well.
Of course... at 6'-8" and 300 lbs. you could hide a VW on yourself and no one would know.
I thought I was "full grown" at 6-5/250, but I'd have to look up to you!
Welcome to the forum (SIR).

It's good to see some pics of the concealco besides on their web site. I ended up getting the ctac but I still plan on getting the ajk. To get the ctac to work for me swapped the sides the tabs were on so the holster would ride lower. I couldn't believe how comfortable the kydex is. The leather tabs break in rather well. The onbly problem (if it really is one) with the ctac is that it's that it's too adjustable. It took a while to figure out the right set up for me. I'm only 5' 10" and 150 lbs soaking wet. LOL But I can still conceal my USPC with a t shirt and my ctac. Thanks for the input y'all.

Hey Jason:
Thankfully no. I've been on this planet for 42 years, and no scuffles since high school (whew).
