In all, I can find no evidence that any BG has ever targeted anyone because they were wearing a fanny pack. This is one of those internet myths.
In my experience, over the last 25 years or so, it's an insignificant issue. Anyway, pack-type holsters are used to solve certain specific problems, like keeping the gun clean and dry when you're at the beach or whatever, not particularly for walking the dog through the barrio some midnight.

My dad uses a fanny pack when he goes walking. I don't think it looks out of place on people, especially if they're in a leisurely setting.

I don't like them for myself. They just aren't my thing.

+1 :!:

I've used a fanny pack for years to carry my camera and to the best of my knowledge have never been targeted by a BG.

Since I now have my CHL and another fanny pack designed for CC, folks can wonder what I have in it. ;-)

I have one and actually put it on while on the beach for a bit. Made it much easier and there were a bunch of others carrying fanny packs so I fit right in. However, I typically just use it so that I can conceal my full size to/from the car and carry it rather than put it on. Since I have a hard time getting to my CCW qhile driving, I've been packing up my .45 in the fanny pack and opening it up and placing it between the seat/console for easy access. I credit Marty and llwatson for that lesson. Males concealing it back up easy and I keep about 3 mags in the other zipper pocket. Easy to grab and go............

I carry in a fanny pack when I'm walking the dogs, on the beach, at the lake, etc. I can keep my normal pocket stuff in there. If my wife is with me she will keep her stuff in there and I' forced to pocket carry though.
