Holsters for a Glock 36 IWB or what's your preference?

I'm looking into the down under or public service IWB by high noon. Any G36 owners out there? :patriot:
Thank god for those soldiers who make it home and open heavens gates for the Heros who didn't.

I carry a G36 as my primary (got 03 of them in fact). My experience with hosters is as follows (FWIW):

Don Hume IWB -- used for three weeks and tossed. Save your money for a better and more durable holster.

DeSantis Summer Comfort IWB -- very nice 'step up' from the Hume. Comfortable, but lost some of its form due to sweat in the TX heat (somewhat of a disappointment).

CrossBreed Super Tuck -- Excellent IWB CC option. The natural horsehide upgrade is well worth the money (I've owned both cowhide and now the horsehide). It is pricier than the DeSantis, but much more comfortable and cooler. The only downside is that it is rather large.

BigPa Texas Tuck (Rockin bull Leatherworks) -- Well, for $50 shipped in TX it's probably my favorite. My elder son (1st LT USArmy) carried his Combat Commander in a TX Tuck, and his younger brother carries a Compact Crusader in a TX Tuck. I've never met Steve FTF, but would buy from him without hesitation. I would put his product on par with the CrossBreed. The only reason I wouldn't rate his work better is that he doesn't offer an upgrade (natural horsehide) on his leather. Nonetheless, the TX Tuck is my everyday carry holster.

Hope this helps...

Have you considered the Comp-Tac Minotaur? I really like mine for my Glock 30. http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=95

I don't have a G36, but I own a High Noon Down Under which I use often. Before making a choice consider whether or not you want the "FBI Cant" of the Down Under or the Straight Up Public Service. Most of the forum members prefer the forward "FBI" cant.

This thread may help you make a decision: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=43355&hilit=straight+cant+fbi" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

He goes by Big Pa on the Texas Hunting Forum. He has several styles, but my favorite is the Texas Tucker. You can see some images and comments on the THF (search for "Custom Leather Holsters".

As much as I dislike admitting it, Kydex/plastic works as well as horsehide.

Fobus has plastic scabbards for about 20.00 $ ea.

Leather is about one Franklin and some change and a long wait.

What has worked for me is Andrews mag/light carrier, FIST # 14, Horseshoe OWB, Bromeland IWB. Those are suitable for me, my chubby 'Michelin Man' middle, and a BHP/Commander.

Don't tell anyone , but a Fobus Paddle is just dandy with a glock 36.

Play with the plastic and, if you just gotta have leather ( I do ), you'll have a better understanding of what works for you, your clothing, vocation, dress, and avocation.

Those comments aren't make/model /caliber specific.

Spare Mag/light carriers are kinda different.

FIST Kydex IWB, you order it custom for your handgun. That's the thinest most comfortable holster I've come across.

Crossbreed, CompTac, etc. etc. are all just too thick. I honestly don't understand how you guys are cramming those things into your waistband comfortably and don't even have much of a gut!
