"Marching" on the capitol with long guns absolutely will not help us pass pro-gun bills! It is threatening and intimidating and that's precisely how the media will cover it. The New Black Panthers did this in Houston several years ago when the Republican Party had its national convention at George R. Brown Convention Center. In the next legislative session, the law was changed to allow cities to prohibit the carrying of firearms at certain events, including political rallies. (See below.) A stunt like this could well end up with a bill in the 2015 legislative session prohibiting the carrying of long guns under some or all circumstances.

A political rally is one thing, but why on earth make a show of being armed? :banghead: Please God, save us from our "friends!!!"

Tex. Local Gov't Code §229.001(b)(6) wrote:(6) regulate the carrying of a firearm by a person other than a person licensed to carry a concealed handgun under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, at a:
  • (A) public park;

    (B) public meeting of a municipality, county, or other governmental body;

    (C) political rally, parade, or official political meeting; or

    (D) nonfirearms-related school, college, or professional athletic event; or

Such an INCREDIBLY BAD IDEA!!!! By all means, go protest/rally, whatever you want to call it. But LEAVE YOUR OPENLY DISPLAYED LONG GUNS AT HOME.

Are these the in-your-face people who seemed to do absolutely everything they possibly could to kill HB700 and HB3218 ?????
It would seem to me that anyone who really cared about progress for our 2nd amendment rights and freedoms might actually think about it for more than 2 seconds. If they did, they would come to the inescapable conclusion that an "armed show of force by right wing extremists" (as the media would widely portray it) is a really bad idea.

^ Ditto.

If you didn't know better you'd wonder if that's where some of Bloomberg's est. $12 million in anti-gun investment is going, to rogue groups of extremist types.

A Tea Party activist is the page administrator. Gee, wonder where people get the stereotypes from? :banghead:
