Groan...a witness is lecturing Chairman Pickett about his oath...now he's grilling her...gawd...some people just don't get it...you don't get change by insulting legislators - especially the chairman of the committee that holds the fate of your bill in his hands.....groan.....groan....groan...

Oh Lord, she's an OCer. Now she's demanding that he bring HB 700 up for a vote. This is painful....awful...

No kidding. I hate to ask, I wonder what group she's with? It's a hearing and she's wasting time on Constitutional generality going after Pickett. Good job! :thumbs2: :grumble

And another? Do they realize there are bills to be heard?

Having never been present for one, I'm assuming this is par for the course? I'd guess it is, and is one of the hurdles.....

Costume? What did I miss? I'm working in other windows and listening with headphones.

ETA: Oh! Now I see. Maybe my stream is lagging behind. Paul Revere just showed up for me.

You probably just heard him announce he was dressed as Paul Revere. He really is, and I wonder if he though they didn't notice. :smilelol5:

This is insane. These people may be "our" worst enemy every session. Maybe not, there's no telling what actually gets things done.

I want to star praying 3218 does not have a circus following. :txflag:

I flipped to that window as soon as I saw you mention costume, but he wasn't speaking yet. Had you seen him in the seats or what?

Yes, when he walked in.

3218-19! Whoop Whoop! I hope Paul Revere has ridden off on his horse. :smilelol5:

"3218-19"

What does that mean? Is 3218 going to be heard next?

Both were 3218 ad 3219 (same as 3218 but only applies to elected officials in case 3218 doesn't go anywhere), at the same time. They were the last 2 and the hearing just ended.

I was riding home on my horse, but still listening (not watching!) on my phone. Good stuff. Hoping for a report from Charles on his reading of how things went.

Thankfully no red coats showed up, just a red dress with cool boots! :txflag:

A note to OCers: If you want a bill to pass out of committee it might be wise not to lecture the very person who holds the keys to the bill's fate in his hands about the Constitution. Insulting him is not going to motivate him to give your bill a fair hearing. I guarantee you, if HB 700 wasn't dead before today, the idiot woman who "testified" killed it deader than a doornail. It may even take years now to find a legislator with the courage to introduce another OC bill given the treatment the chairman received with this one. Please tell your "members" that self-inflicted bill-icide isn't going to move your bills to passage.
