WTS - Marlin 30-30
I bough this rifle used. It appears to have been shot very little. The barrel is stamped JM. I may have some ammo to go with it. The wood is immaculate shape and well as the metal on the gun. If interested please email: pastor at fbcirving dot com. I have no choice I must sale. $675.00 OBO

Carlson, why do you offer these things for sale when I can’t buy them? Yer killin' me!

Trust me this wasn't my ideal. I have been wanting a great lever action forever. I often wonder when I will stop having to go the hospital. I have a procedure on Thursday and have to have $400 cash when I walk through the doors at Presbyterian. It is becoming a real depressing thing. The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2019 11:31 pm Carlson, why do you offer these things for sale when I can’t buy them? Yer killin' me!

My friend, if it wasn't the time of year where all of my extra money goes to gifts for the family and property taxes, I would jump all over a couple of those .
I will pray for you and your procedure though.

Thank you. This will be heart cath number 20 and my cardiologist has me pretty worried about it. My blood clot in my lung God healed. I am praying the heart cath will be not problem either, but humanly speaking I am still worried.

I had one in the 80's, traded it for my first pistol. Lived upstate NY and it had a scope on it. Nice gun.

Re: WTS - Marlin 30-30
Not 1971, but 1979. Marlin used letters for 336's from 1946 to 1968 C-AD. From 1968 -1972 the first two numbers in the S/N was the last two numbers on the year of manufacture; I.E S/N 71xxxxxx is 1971. One exception is 1968 which uses both letters and numbers and are numbered both AD and 68. After 1968 subtract the first two numbers from 100 for 336 rifles manufactured up to about 2009/10 I.E 91xxxxxxx would be 2009 ; 93xxxxxx is 1997 It gets a little murky around that time in the transition to Remington. But your rifle is easy 100-21 is 79, thus 1979. BTW it's a beautiful rifle. I was asking about your S/N to determine if it was a waffle top. I stupidly passed up a two of them a couple of years ago at very good prices.
I am praying for a successful procedure. Someone should jump on this beautiful JM marked 336 C w/o the silly cross bolt safety added in the 80's.
