An excellent 3rd gen (with rail and finger grooves)17L. I don't believe Glock is making the 17L anymore. All original w/ 2 10 rnd mags, as well as an additionl 17 rounder I'll throw in, and it has a set of Black on black Heinie steel sights. Round count is in the low hundreds.
I have decided it is a little long for me. I would like a G34 or sale for $600.00

Carl - I don't have a G34, but I have a 31C that I would part with. How about that?

Carl - looks like the 17L hasn't really been discontinued; they just renamed it Model 34! (This is according to the Glock rep at Cabela's this weekend.)

So you still wanna trade your 17L for a 34?

The 17L is longer than a 34. That rep was just trying to get you to buy a 34.

I agree.....the 17L is longer and is not IDPA legal (wont fit in the box)......Unlike the 34 which is the most popular gun at the nationals.

Thanks for the clarification, guys!

I should have known I could count on the IDPA experts to know.

Mrs. Linda I believe everyone is right. I believe the 34 is at least a 1/2 inch shorter. They call the 34 the practical/tactical. But I did sell the 17L. I am going to look out for a 34.

The 17L was the competition model Glock 9mm before the 34. The 17L is .5in longer on the barrel and slide than the 34. Glock phased the the 17L out and soon replaced it with the 34 back in I believe 2000. The purpose of replaceing it is as jbirds said so Glock could have a 9mm firearm that could compete in IDPA besides the standard 17. Glock did however make a few again in 2005 due to high demand but production only ran for about two months and prices were outrageous.
