Not really looking to get rid of mine, but what are you thinking of trading?

I have a Glock 29sf that I can trade. I also have a few more to offer if anyone is interested... Let me know.

160 views and only a couple suggestions... I guess I'm in for a long wait. I don't understand how the Springfield XDS was easier to find than the Shield. Why is that?

I have seen them at Academy fairly recently. I wasn't in the market for one so I couldn't tell you what the price was. I didn't think one would be that hard to find.

I've tried every Acadamy in my area... And some sales people act like I should quit trying. I'm still looking! Can you transfer handguns from one Academy to another, like you can with Cabela's?

When I asked they told me no, but it may have changed. Never hurts to ask!

I was given to understand that at Academy you can put a gun on hold for 24 hours, should you happen to call and ask if they have one and the answer is yes. So if you want to save yourself some gas mileage, you can make a hobby of calling everyone near you however often you feel will be useful. "Hi, it's me again. No? Talk to you tomorrow!" ;)

I've been told they can't transfer from one store to another which is a bummer but really if I found one across the city I would have no problems driving to get it.

What is pretty disappointing of Academy is how their system doesn't allow them to see what other store are stocking. It would make the phone calling a lot easier, but of course it would probably magnify the non-existence of the shield.

I was 1 hour too late. I stopped at a place and they just sold the Shield... Just my luck.

I saw 3 at a Houston Academy 2 days ago. Maybe some will make it out there soon.

Found a 9mm for $429.99 at this place:

http://www.ktpguns.com/

Yes, you will have to pay shipping and the FFL transfer fee...but KTP is great to deal with, and the price is reasonable.
