WTS/WTT Springfield Armory 1911A1 GI
I've been bitten by the 7.62x39mm bug… damn you, Russia!
After wafting about how much I needed two 1911's, I've decided to use one to go after a SKS. I've completely moved over to a Glock 19 or Ruger LCP for carry; I haven't carried a 1911 in almost 2 years.
As for my part: it's a Springfield Armory 1911A1 GI model, 5" barrel, parkerized finish. I don't know if SA has stopped making the GI, but I haven't seen it for a while; it's like the Mil-Spec model, except it has the WWII-era style low sights, lanyard loop, and a standard ejection port rather than the lowered one SA uses nowadays. Mine also has a parkerized barrel to match the finish, although I don't know if all the GI's had that.
I bought it new 7 years ago and I've put about 1000 rounds total through it. Since I moved to Texas four years ago, it's only gone to the range twice, and it's become a bit of dead weight in my safe. However, last fall I replaced the recoil spring and hammer spring, and had the feed ramp lightly polished. I put two mags through it after that to make sure it was feeding well, but the new spring is still quite stiff. It was my open-carry gun for years in Colorado and Virginia, so it has some holster wear on it (you can see in pictures below), but it's fairly light and only cosmetic.
Along with the pistol, I'll throw in:
- 3 7-rounds magazines (2 SA, 1 Kimber; the springs are a little weak in the SA ones, as many 1911 owners know!)
- A Bianchi model 82 holster (tan)
- A Galco OWB thumb-break holster (tan)
- 1 leather magazine carrier (tan, belt-snap)
- About 80 rounds FMJ range ammo (America Eagle)
- 25 rounds HP defense ammo (Federal Premium)
I'd like to trade for a NICER SKS; I'd prefer Russian, but Yugo, Albanian, or Chinese are all good if they're in good condition (I am partial to the Chrome barrel on a Norinco, but they don't always have the good wood to match). It doesn't have to be pristine, because, heck, it's a SKS; however, this is a package worth more than a frosted-barreled junker with loose sights, so those need not apply. A little bit of 7.62x39mm ammo would be nice, too, if you have some with the SKS!
Update - Doesn't seem like anyone is looking to trade their SKS for a 1911, so to fund me looking for one, the whole package here is for sale for $525 (but would still do a straight up trade preferably! I don't want to break the package up, or sell items separately. Would like to do FTF in the Houston area; buyer must have a TX CHL or TX DL+bill of sale, and of course must be legal to own and purchase firearms!

Re: WTT (maybe WTS) Springfield Armory 1911A1 GI
You need to chop down those pictures a bit. They are WAY too big. I felt like I had to stand back. I didn't know if I was looking at a gun or a car part.
She looks beautiful. Good luck with the sale!

Back to the top to reflect a for-sale price!

I hope there are some nice 1911's like this up for sale when I'm ready to finally get one.

I'd buy it if you were in Austin. Good luck.

Man, that's a sweet deal, but my wife would skin me and fillet me if I were to bring home another gun!
As hard as ammo is to find these days, just the ammo alone is almost good for the deal!
