Please call and/or fax your Representative and ask them to oppose any attempt to remove Senator Wentworth's campus-carry provisions from SB1581 (the HB3639 companion). Please do this ASAP and keep the calls going!!

Thanks,
Chas.

Done.

I'm on record with Representative Brown as being for campus carry. His representative informed me that he is an author on HB 750--which I already knew--and was pleased to hear of my affiliation with an university in his district and took my name and phone number. Hopefully that is good news.

Just to be specific, we are talking only about House Representatives at this point? Correct?

What I mean is: We don't have to call our Senators any more at this point, correct? Just the House rep?

Ok, just sent the following email:

Representative Weber,

I am writing you this evening asking for your help by opposing any efforts to remove Sen. Wentworth's campus carry provisions from the recently passed SB1581. The House version, HB3639, does not yet contain these provisions. I would like to seem them reconciled in such a way that the campus carry provisions remain.

As a 15 year employee of a private university, I have first hand
experience at being dis-armed on a daily basis just because my place
of work resides inside of an arbitrary boundary.

Further, my daughters are 15 and 13 currently and will likely attend
college in Texas in a few short years. Even though they will be under
21 for much of this time, I would know - and more importantly
criminals would know - that they do not reside in a supposedly gun
free zone.

Sincerely,

me
