no emoticon here properly expresses my amazement (if that's a word) I mean who should know better ...
He was also TSRA-endorsed in the 2010 election, which means he answered correctly on their questionnaire about campus carry. Of course, we know no politician ever lied to help get elected.
I called Aycock and expressed my disappointment that he would say one thing for a good pre election rating, then do something else entirely. :waiting:

"He supports the Second Amendment, BUT"

I'd recommend lots of people in the election booth pressing the button to vote for you next time .... BUT

but apparently you value phone calls from Democrats more than representing the people who elected you ...

planning to change parties next time since the district lines were drawn differently? ... good luck with that.

Where Luby's was ... is still the same place, even if it's Chinese food now.. People don't forget that around here.
This isn't Kilgore where they got false facts about the incident...

(just venting; any time I hear that top sentence above ...) :mad5

I support your right to try to get re-elected, BUT ... you probably need to listen to your party.

Read this Texas Campus Carry bill moving, but threats remain, then call Speaker Straus. We need this bill to pass.

Thanks for that
Aycock (R-54) and Darby (R-72) voted in favor of Patrick’s amendment (against campus carry).

SB 1581 passed as is, (out of committee) 17-3.

The bill now goes to the Calendars Committee, chaired by Todd Hunter (R-32). He sounds very positive about SB 1581 making it to floor.

It’s very likely that points of order like Patrick’s will arise, once SB 1581 reaches the floor. This tactic helps delay bills until time runs out on the legislative session. Considering this, the most important person to call now is Speaker Straus. Despite overwhelming support for campus carry among House members, how Straus rules on points of order will determine whether campus carry reaches the governor’s desk.
I'm still calling others after that too though, The Republicans need to stop listening to those democrats with the free government obamaphones we pay for who live out of State.

If Ms. (Democrat) Patrick contends that it's unfair since it only applies to Public schools, amend it to cover Private ones too if she can make it "more germane" that way fcol (for cryin' out loud)

It's a nice idea, and one that'd be much appreciated by a number of people here, but at this stage in the game we have to stay focused on just getting the durn thing passed!

Adding private schools would have to be scheduled for a future session - unless people have more hidden up their sleeves than I'm aware of.

If only they could, BUT then it wouldn't be germane to a bill funding public schools.

Please email, fax and call STRAUS!

It just takes s few moments and he will be the key figure deciding how "points of order" are ruled upon.

The committee met this morning and it was voted favorably. Now to Calendars.

Just emailed Straus encouraging him to get the bill to a vote and not let it get stalled by its opponents once it reaches the floor. I included my perspective as a CHL holder as well as a full time faculty at a state university.
