This one is a little complicated.

Police were originally called to the scene for a domestic disturbance. Police say a woman was attempting to get away from her husband after a party when she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the corner of a house.

The homeowner, hearing the vehicle hit his home, armed himself with his handgun and went outside to investigate.

Jason Robles, of the Houston Police Department, said, "The husband, running up the street, shirtless, running towards him. The homeowner is telling him to stop. He has something in his hand, a dark and shiny object, and fearing for his safety -- the husband didn't listen to his commands to stop -- and ended up shooting him."
Well, either he had something in his hands or he didn't. Investigation will determine.

I have zero confidence that anything reported in the news is accurate.

The homeowner was taken in for questioning. Hmm.

At night. Doesn't say man killed committed a crime on the homeowner's property. Could have committed trespassing, but I don't think trespassing rises to the use of deadly force.
