Love a good ending. These punks need to encounter more people like this guy.

Great for him for being able to act according to his training.
I admit, since I have not had that training, I would have called 911 as soon as I saw the guys go inside and just tried to play the role of a good witness.

And you maybe shot and killed too while Keeping your CC hidden. It is split second decision when to act.healthinsp wrote:Great for him for being able to act according to his training.

I think he knew full well that the whole thing would be long over before police arrived. We are not police officers nor are we heroes, but at some point the people have to be willing to stand up and say enough is enough.healthinsp wrote:Great for him for being able to act according to his training.

Although I'm quite happy with the Marine springing into action and
removing a BG from the world, it could have easily gone bad
since he had to go to the truck to get his gun.
Carrying onbody will always result in quicker, effective response than
having to go somewhere else to retrieve your firearm.

I am ex Air Force so I guess I am more of a wimp. I agree with healthinsp though. Once the Marine went for his gun and got involved he was acting as if he was a LEO. I am glad that it turned out OK but I personally would have prefered to be a witness rather than a LEO. I didn't get my CHL to save the world. It is for me and family. Flame away.healthinsp wrote:Great for him for being able to act according to his training.

That is a stretch. He wasn't acting like an LEO. He was acting like a good citizen. He knew his capabilities and responded to the level he was trained to. If you want to be a witness that is your decision. The marine made his.rotor wrote: I am ex Air Force so I guess I am more of a wimp. I agree with healthinsp though. Great on his part. He likely has more extensive training than most. I've wondered what I would do. I have to say my first thought is get home...if I was inside I am certain I would engage.
I don't want to say he was acting like a LEO, but is he justified to use force in this incident.

Assuming this is a typo instead of a question. If you meant "he is justified to use force in this incident", then I agree that deadly force is legally justified to stop a robbery.Cjwglock19 wrote: ... but is he justified to use force in this incident.
