Criminals use security guard's truck to rob gun store here in Houston. They apparently came well prepared as they were carrying assault weapons.

One criminal laid on the ground to get the attention of the security guard, who had already called 911. Few guns were stolen as most were locked up.

Pretty brazen.

Please don't fall prey to the anti-gun agenda by calling them "assault" weapons. First, I didn't see where the article specified the firearm type.

But even if they did use an AR or AK-style semi-auto rifle, those aren't assault rifles.

Personally, I try to use the NSSF-preferred term, "modern sporting rifles".

In no news cast or artticle have I even heard it was a rifle, just that it was a gun. This place is just up the street from where I live, been there a few times. Small store, but has a lot of tatical gear and mainly is a police supply store. Not the place to hit in my opinion.

Not only did they call it an assault weapon, but it was a .22 'assault weapon'.

"Another man waiting nearby who approached from a wooded area pointed a .22 caliber assault weapon toward the guard."

Story and Video here.

Breaking stories said "assault rifle", but those were taken down. This article still says rifle.

stealth - I'm nearby, too.

Marinemom - are you also in the neighborhood or just your son?

Sounds like a game of "Who are the people in your neighborhood". I often read these posts and know I pass by y'all weekly!

I haven't been to Woodland's Tactical since thy added their FFL. Nice guys - they are who let me try on a belt with my holster and side arm so I could see what a huge difference a gun belt makes. Wish the best and quick repairs so they can open their doors quickly again.

my son is one of the security guards in that shopping center.
he was suppose to work that night and they just changed his schedule last week.
it was a co-worker that was car-jacked and beat up
.. and he thought the Woodlands was a safe place to work

Depends on where you are at in the woodlands and time of year makes a big diffrence. I know a few LEO's that work that area. Christmas shopping time crimes go way up, and it has its bad areas to.
