A 43-year-old Fort Worth man is in custody and charged with multiple offenses after he allegedly stole a fork lift and led police on a low-speed chase on public streets and I-30. The charges include DWI. The suspect also allegedly threw beer bottles at oncoming traffic.

This story is nationwide news now. Great publicity for the state. :grumble

People have been charged with DWI when caught driving drunk anything with a motor, including lawn mowers and power wheelchairs. Horse riders in other states also have been charged with DWI, though I don't think that charge would fly in Texas.

This is hardly just a DWI issue. He could have been arrested for numerous offenses that he committed.

People steal things and resist arrest all the time. I just thought the DWI on a forklift was unique.
