Fort Worth: Man jailed after DWI on forklift

#1

Post by seamusTX »

A 43-year-old Fort Worth man is in custody and charged with multiple offenses after he allegedly stole a fork lift and led police on a low-speed chase on public streets and I-30. The charges include DWI. The suspect also allegedly threw beer bottles at oncoming traffic.

This story is nationwide news now. Great publicity for the state. :grumble

People have been charged with DWI when caught driving drunk anything with a motor, including lawn mowers and power wheelchairs. Horse riders in other states also have been charged with DWI, though I don't think that charge would fly in Texas.

Holy cow, this has happened more than once!!!

I do not want to post a link as there is some bad language in the video but y'all should google "scissor lift DUI" it is well worth your time.

While you are at it check out "West Virginia Ninja" too.

Raines faces charges of assaulting a public servant, theft of property, evading arrest, violating a protective order and driving while intoxicated. He also has an outstanding traffic warrant from Irving.

This is hardly just a DWI issue. He could have been arrested for numerous offenses that he committed.

People steal things and resist arrest all the time. I just thought the DWI on a forklift was unique.
