Did it not cross his mind that this guy might be a LEO? If he did mean harm, how do you know he doesn't have a partner? Most criminals come in 2's or 3's (or more). This was extremely dangerous and stupid for said "vigilante".
I think these anti-gun folks just can't get their head around the idea that there are real world consequences for their idiotic actions and policies. I don't think he believed he could be shot.

I don't think there was a whole lot of thinking involved in any form actually.

I would have shot him and any other "hero" that attacked me. A choke hold is dangerous and not just because of possible suffocation.

I'll often walk with my weak side hand in my pocket, holding my back up gun.

Me too. Wouldn't even think twice about it... Hindsight is always 20/20, but we don't get the benefit of knowing this when assaulted in this fashion and hesitation kills...

After seeing the video, this "hero" along with other "heroes" should consider themselves damn LUCKY they didn't get shot or stabbed...

Has it been established that he is part of the anti-gun nut group or is it just because he saw a black man with a gun?

I'm sure that played a role in his mindset.
Armed not dangerous but potentially lethal.

It is a shame that we don't (yet) know more than the idiot supposedly saw that the guy had a gun under his coat. Meaning that we don't know what that means - did the guys coat blow open for a moment, or whatever. But it is unlikely that the idiot has x-Ray vision. Beyond that we don't know, and when the details come out it likely won't get press coverage. Thankfully the idiot hadn't "brought a log" http://www.cc.com/video-clips/7gut1c/co ... r-weddings on his shopping trip.

This article says he saw him holster his gun. Don't know if it was in his vehicle, etc. http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index. ... ks_ma.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Maybe he has it in the console and was putting the holster on his belt to go in. Just another reason to be sure to be discrete and make sure no one sees you arming or disarming if you do it in a public place.

Well, a gun in a IWB holster around the backside is not very accessible while driving. I can see the wisdom in pulling it out in the vehicle.

So what do you do if two people in Walmart are on the ground scuffling for a gun? You've got a 50/50 chance of getting it right.

Easy. While everyone is distracted, I move to the head of the checkout line. Mamma didn't raise no fool. :tiphat:
That was funny. You win this one hands down.

Except Fl law specifically stats that is permissible, reasonable and allowed.
TX law of course says differently..and I wish it was more like FL law in this case.

I agree that a concealed HG should for all reasonable reason remain concealed and that is always my intent. Yet I would like the public display to not be an issue in any way, not just a defense to charges.

Well at least someone didn't call the cops and they come in and blow him away.

It could have been that much worse situation.

Years ago I saw a big muscular guy, 6'+ and weighing around 225#, get taken down in a clam shell parking lot by a much smaller guy.

The little guy executed a perfect tackle. He wrapped the guy up; pinning the victim's arms to his side while driving him down. The victim never knew what hit him. He was helpless and landed flat on his face. As he lay stunned & out of breath the smaller guy proceeded to brutally beat him nearly unconscious.

I quickly learned that you dont want to take a header in a clam shell parking lot. The guy's face was really cut up.
If I can get just my hand out of my pocket and the gun aimed at his groin I can probably make some time to get to my Kimber.

...and if you were a Ninja you could jump 10' straight up, do a back flip - land behind the attacker and paralyze him with a finger to the base of his skull.
