They say the first sign of dementia is when you start agreeing with CPD.

Except for, you know, the fact that they can quit and leave any time.Cedar Park Dad wrote:That sounds like just this side of indentured servitude.

So your salary is three (maybe hots) and a cot? At least the Saudi maids that occasionally escape usually get a salary.nightmare wrote:Except for, you know, the fact that they can quit and leave any time.Cedar Park Dad wrote:That sounds like just this side of indentured servitude.
I wonder if this is even legal.

Where did you guys find info that said she wasn't paid? I guess I missed that part.

Re: Live-in Nanny Refuses to Work or Leave-House
TLDR all the other replies...but really...lead her out at gunpoint?
Are we really this mixed up that we consider bringing a deadly weapon into every confrontation or unpleasant situation?
The answer is no. Do not threaten someone who has lived at your property but who is now non-threateningly merely refusing to leave your property with deadly force. It will end badly for you.
A weapon is for stopping threats, not emphasizing your point.
And maybe I'm riled up....but if you can't handle your business and manage a simple confrontation without looking for some inanimate object to leverage to your advantage, a gun might not be for you.

What if its a full auto wiener dog? I had an ancient wiener dog (sadly passed just a short time ago) who could pee on command, or if you ticked him off, usually on you just to make the point clear.gigag04 wrote:TLDR all the other replies...but really...lead her out at gunpoint?

Re: Live-in Nanny Refuses to Work or Leave-House
Just sayin', but it's not that uncommon in Texas, especially along the border, to have a live-in maid from Mexico at the cost of room, board, and $50 a week. That's not minimum wage either. Illegal labor is routinely exploited with absolutely no shame.Cedar Park Dad wrote:So your salary is three (maybe hots) and a cot? I'm so thankful i was able to raise my kids myself. This woman was indeed a nightmare. I don't know how they could sleep with a stranger in their home.
I just read an article on DM that said she agreed to move out by the 6th. The wife has a wedding to attend in Mexico and will be leaving family members in charge of the home to make sure nothing gets damaged or stolen while they're gone.

If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

I mean, where did I hide my son's spider collection?
Actually get them out to door, very difficult legally once you allowed them to live there.

Maybe one should consider raising their kids themselves or hiring properly, and legally.
