Active shooter at Ft. Hood

#1

Post by jmra »

Just heard a blurb on the news - will look for a link.

http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Active ... 36461.html
KCEN-TV in Central Texas is reporting multiple people have been injured Wednesday in a second mass shooting at Fort Hood.

An official at the base said the post is on lock down.

KCEN reports at least one person has been transported to an area hospital in an unknown condition and that several others are injured.

The exact number of injured are not yet known.

The shooting is believed to have taken place at the Medical Brigade Building.

More when we hear from him again.

I will pray for the families and continue to pray our "leaders" will see the light and stop disarming the good guys.

Prayers for all the victims and their families. 3 fatalities plus shooter is dead and 14 injured was the last I saw. I have to refrain from any comment or critique right now.

And this is not the guy they said wanted to go all Jihad on the Army last week. He's supposedly being watched somewhere else.

Shooter's name is Ivan Lopez.

General got asked several questions about soldiers carrying concealed. Seems they have to sign weapon in and out of armory. Took 10-15 minutes for MPs to get to scene and engage. Just makes you wonder...
I pass Ft Hood everyday going to work, prayers for all involved and their families.

The shooter was being treated for PTSD.

His weapon was a Smith and Wesson .45, recently purchased in the Fort Hood area.

Like previous massacres, he kept killing until the MP's arrived, then 86'd himself.

There, I fixed it for you. When will our dear leaders realize that when seconds count, the police (MPs in this case) are only minutes away?!?!?

Just one armed person resisting this animal might have stopped him much sooner.

This wacko was being evaluated for PTSD so he may not have had it. I just wanted to clarify that because he gives the people that seek real help a bad name. Thousands or millions have PTSD and function just fine in their daily lives and on their jobs, to include being soldiers, LEO's, FD, EMS, ect. It makes me wonder if he is another phony that wants the PTSD diagnosis so he can get the free VA pay check? From articles I read today he never even saw combat. If he did actually have it that's no excuse and incidents like this will fuel the anti gun fire :smash:

I also want to commend the female MP. She was alert and wasn't duped by this wacko when he had his hands up and then went for his gun. This happens a lot and she was ready. Whoever trained her did good. While I wonder if she got any actual hits on him, her engaging him caused him to take his own life which is outstanding :txflag:

:iagree:
Army Secretary has stated that the shooter saw no combat and was not wounded. He looks like a phony.

I was at Ft Hood back in 68/69...still live an hour away. When I told my wife about the shooting last night, the first thing she said was" "You're kidding... they STILL don't allow the soldiers to carry a weapon on Post after the last time? That's just crazy...if even one soldier had been able to shoot back it might have stopped him immediately."
