Technically its called Google Glass but by any other name it would still be a wearable "smart" device.

Yes they look like bad Sci Fi B movie glasses.
I'm actually supportive of AMC on this. Bring a device that can record the movie blatantly into the theater, expect to get thrown out and interrogated. It sucks to be you. :evil2:

The [Sonny Bono] Copyright Term Extension Law enacted in 1998 increased the amount of time for copyright protection. Some of convinced that the "limited times" are now too long. I don't know any court cases yet.

You can have one. Qualify for the beta and pay somewhere between $1600-$2500, if I recall right.
Just don't walk into an AMC with 'em on.

What's next how? I think it's pretty much a fact that everything we do is becoming monitored via legitimate or illegitimate means. Personally, I'm running 5 cameras at home recording 24/7. I feel most comfortable during "LEO encounters" if I know that both of us are being recorded. And certainly the feds are recording some "good guys" along the way contrary to how most people traditionally interpret our constitutional rights.


I'm not ready for Google Glass and I recognize that we live in a country where the government is able to locate bad guys very quickly probably due to the fact that everyone is being recorded in one way or another for a good part of the time.

In regard to the AMC thing: It was probably a reasonable thing for the theater to do. They were responding to what they thought might be illegal activity and an activity that affects their business (piracy). The reaction of the feds, well, seems a bit ridiculous, but some time would need to be taken to determine if those glasses were recording... Seems a bit over the top. At least no cavities were searched in this one.

Small-scale, low-resolution movie piracy is not important enough to warrant investigation by any Federal agency IMHO.

Some people feel the same way about small-scale child pornography but the law is the law.
